This is a new timber decking in Lightwater. The client was unsure what to do with this area as they had a old patio. After looking at this job it was decided that decking could be build on top of old patio area as under the stone there was a 100mm concrete base. Weed mat was lay out on the area for the new decking to be fitted on top off.
The client was then advised that finishing the top of the decking board in line with finished floor level to suit new bifold patio door they had fitted was best way to finish decking. C24 treated 5×2 timber was used as the timber structure to act as joists for the decking at 400mm centres. C24 treated 5×2 timber was used as vertical uprights at 400mm centres staggered to support timber structure.
The timber structure had a slight fall from doors in run with boards so water would not lay on surface. All timber in full structure for decking was screwed with structural hex head screws. Decking boards were 32mm x 150mm Ascot Castellated smooth treated. Decking broads were cut with a chopsaw and screwed with Timco C2 decking screws. Decking boards were all oiled with decking oil once installation was completed.
